Send an E-Letter to Governor Hochul Urging Her to Invest in Mental Health Housing in the 2027-28 State Budget!

Hello - Please take a moment to send an E-letter directly to Governor Hochul, urging her to include at least a 3.4% Targeted Inflationary Increase (TII), commit to a predictable multi-year TII, and funding to fix antiquated housing models in this year's Executive Budget. With continued federal funding uncertainty and rising costs, housing providers cannot maintain stable services without funding that keeps pace with inflation at a minimum.  Anything less than a 3.4% TII is a cut -- one that will undermine the ability of programs to meet the needs of New Yorkers living with serious mental illness.

We are deeply grateful for the significant investments Governor Hochul and the Legislature have made in community-based mental health housing over the past several years. Those investments have strengthened the system, but rising costs and longstanding funding gaps continue to put pressure on providers. This year, we must protect the progress New York has made while continuing to strengthen the housing models that thousands of New Yorkers rely on.

Sending a letter is so easy to do! Just enter your street address, zip code, and full name below and a digital copy of an E-letter will be generated addressed from you to the Governor. You can then either choose to e-mail it to her OR print and mail a hard copy.

We have created this letter because in the coming months, the Governor and her team will be forming the Executive State Budget for 2027/2028. Once the Governor's Budget is released in January, it will be very difficult to get additional funding added above the amount that she proposes. That's why it is critical that we make our voices heard NOW and urge the Governor to include these investments in her Executive Budget proposal.

Our goal is to send at least 25,000 letters to the Governor before she finalizes her budget in mid-December.
We encourage you to send the E-letter repeatedly, and please forward this link to anyone who would also be willing to send it! To learn more about Bring It Home, visit our website bringithomenys.org and follow us on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Threads!
