Hello - Please take a moment to send an E-letter directly to your Legislative representatives along with Assembly and Senate leadership, urging support to include an additional 1% for the full 2.7% Targeted Inflationary Increase (TII) in this year's final State Budget. With looming federal cuts and rising costs, housing providers cannot maintain stable services without funding that keeps pace with inflation at a minimum. Anything less than a 2.7% TII is a cut -- one that will undermine the ability of programs to meet the needs of New Yorkers living with serious mental illness.
We are deeply grateful for the State's continued investments, but this year it is critical to safeguard the system against further erosion. The people served by these programs depend on safe, supportive housing -- and we must ensure providers have the resources to keep those doors open.
Sending a letter is so easy to do! Just enter your street address, zip code, and full name below and a digital copy of an E-letter will be generated addressed from you to Legislative members representatives. You can then either choose to e-mail it OR print and mail a hard copy.
We have created this letter because in the coming month, the Senate and Assembly will introduce one-house bills and begin negotiating the final State Budget for 2026/2027. Absent inclusion in the Assembly and Senate one-house bills, it will be very difficult to get additional funding for the full 2.7% in the final State budget. That's why it is imperative that we make it clear to Legislative members that a final budget needs to include the full 2.7% to avoid further cuts to the system.
Our goal is to send at least 100,000 letters to the Senate and Assembly in February before the one-house bills are introduced and negotiations start.
We encourage you to send the E-letter again, and again and please forward this link to anyone who would also be willing to send it! To learn more about Bring It Home, visit our website bringithomenys.org and follow us on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Threads!

About The Bring It Home Campaign
Bring it Home is a coalition of community-based mental health housing providers, mental health advocates, faith leaders, and consumers and their families, urging New York State to adequately fund these community-based housing programs for individuals with psychiatric disabilities. Full recovery and community reintegration depends on stable housing opportunities. Through education and advocacy, Bring it Home is working to bring Better Funding for Better Care to New York.
