Head Start NPRM Comment - Teachers
Your perspective, experiences and expertise as an early childhood educator are critial to informing key decisions about Head Start and the potential impacts of these decisions on the children and families you serve. As an educator, you can use the form below to share your perspective on the proposed changes with HHS. Among other things, the proposed changes include:
- Removal of low, Head Start specific teacher:child ratios in favor of higher ratios found in state licensing standards
- A requirement that all classroom instruction be delivered in English only
- A prohibition on "incentivizing" higher education for teachers and staff, which would disallow programs from funding education or paying higher salaries to those with higher education
