We love Iowa's outdoors. We love our lakes, rivers, parks, and trails. They are essential to our way of life and they provide spaces for families to explore, wildlife to thrive, and communities to connect. But the future of these natural spaces is at risk.
For over a decade, Iowans have overwhelmingly supported funding the Natural Resources and Recreation Trust Fund (IWILL), which was designed to protect our water, land, and outdoor spaces for generations to come. Yet, it remains unfunded.
The bill (SJR6) set to repeal IWILL will be reviewed by the full Senate State Government Committee tomorrow morning, March 5 at 11:00 AM. Public comments will not be allowed during this meeting, so it is crucial for committee members to hear from Iowans beforehand! This is our chance to ensure a strong future for Iowa's outdoors. Here is how you can help:
1.) Use our Take Action tool below to send an email to your legislators asking them to oppose SJR 6.
2.) Send an email to the Senate State Government Committee asking them to oppose SJR 6.
Thank you for being a voice for Iowa's future. Together, we can protect the places we love.
