Take Action For Aging Issues
The U.S. Senate, as a part of their deliberations on the budget reconciliation bill before Congress, is considering cuts to the Medicaid program that would put the health care of many older adults and persons with disabilities in our state at risk.
Provisions being considered would result in North Carolina losing millions of dollars in Medicaid funding that could necessitate scaling back Medicaid benefits used by older adults and persons with disabilities such a home and community-based services and could put new limitations on who can qualify for Medicaid.
In addition, proposed cuts under consideration would also result in many older adults and persons with disabilities getting less help with out-of-pocket costs not covered by Medicare and would add new requirements that make it easier to lose coverage for Medicaid.
E-mail your Senators now and ask that they NOT CUT Medicaid.
