Support Policyholders by Holding Insurance Companies Accountable for Financial Exploitation

In the Michigan Senate, Senate Bill 245 is what we need to hold insurance companies accountable for a history of predatory practices.

Insurance companies can delay and deny claims for no other reason than to save money, and force consumers and small business owners into costly and lengthy legal battles. Even if consumers win, insurance companies face little punishment, and ultimately make more money by occasionally going to court while cheating other policyholders out of their contractually-agreed upon funds. There is no existing means legally to hold insurance companies accountable for acting in bad faith.

Senate Bill 245 would hold insurance companies accountable by:
  1. Requiring insurance companies to honor their contracts and agreements in good faith
  2. Providing policyholders with legal recourse when insurance companies act in bad faith
  3. Solidifying the right for consumers to have their claims investigated and determined fairly
Insurance companies must be held accountable for the real harms they commit by withholding your rightfully owed protections.
