Rural Providers for Access to Medicaid

For nearly 20 years Tennessee has been blocking rural communities from equitable access to Medicaid.

According to the 2023 Uninsured Adult Safety Net Report published by the Tennessee Department of Health - 22 Rural Tennessee counties do not have an Uninsured Adult Safety Net provider. At the same time, Tennessee refuses to expand Medicaid which hurts our rural hospitals, clinics, and federally qualified health centers. Most importantly it is keeping more than 220,000 Tennesseans from receiving access to care.

Rural Tennesseans and our providers cannot afford to both be blocked from the Uninsured Adult Safety Net AND the benefits of Medicaid Expansion.

If you are a healthcare professional in Tennessee, please our petition to show your support of Medicaid Expansion for rural Tennesseans.
